It is
a great honor to be called of God to be pastor of Calvary Baptist Church
in Claremont, NH.
Calvary
Baptist Church is primarily a teaching church, committed to proclaiming
God’s word and instructing God’s people in it. As such, we
have a strong emphasis on the expositional preaching and teaching of
scripture.
As pastor of Calvary Baptist, I believe that God’s word is sufficient to
win the lost to Christ and to mature the saints. I see my position
as a shepherd, under the good shepherd, Jesus Christ. Just as the
Apostles would not be distracted from their priorities of prayer and the
ministry of the word, so I believe I must maintain those same
priorities.
It
is God who saves sinners; we are just the vessels to communicate His
message to them. It is our responsibility to communicate clearly
and accurately the message of God from His word. In other words,
we are to make God’s word available, not acceptable.
We
have been blessed with men and women who have a heart to serve
God. It is a privilege to work with these willing servants of God
and to see them use the gifts God has given them. The church is a
body in which every part needs to function. Our goal is to have
every member serving the body of Christ in some way.
Ultimately
we have only one goal: To glorify God in everything! To do that we
must obey what He has spoken in His word and leave the results with Him.
